My current home is a 23ft airstream camper that I bought in October of 2021. Specifically, she’s a 2011 Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB. She’s known as “Silvie”, which is a shortening of “Shiny Silver Sausage”. Also sometimes called the “SSS”. She’s had a decent amount of maintenance and break-fixes under my ownership – check my posts for some of my repair adventures. Follow this link for a list of her standard features from the factory.

Living in Silvie
I’ll try and describe some of the ways I use the camper as I’ve been living in Silvie. Over 20,000+ miles under my care with multiple repairs, mostly to her pex plumbing systems after discovering leaks. I use the cell signal booster + one of cellular hot spots in order to have internet, which usually will increase reception by about half a bar of signal. With her tank setup and my use-case I can go about two weeks without dumping or refilling her tanks. While she’s not the best insulated, which means not so great below freezing where I’ve had the plumbing freeze, her window setup is pretty good for cross breezes. They open a fairly significant amount, which makes her quite tolerable out in the desert where it may be warmer but usually windy.
